The Delphi: 1999 to 2011

For eleven years, Flesherton’s Delphi Health and Leisure Centre provided a multi-function recreational space for local residents.

The project began in 1999, when three local women purchased the building the Grey Line Inn, on the north edge of Flesherton.  They built the pool, and launched the Delphi with features including a full dining area with liquor license, commercial kitchen, billiards table, exercise room, dance lessons, children’s space, gym, two hot tubs and the new pool.  The Delphi was an intergenerational space, from infant swim lessons to the youth swim team to the seniors’ Delphi Beauties group.  Teenagers from the high school would often use the space during lunch and after school.

The pool operated from multiple revenue sources including membership, swimming lessons, summer camp & birthday parties. In 2009 the Centre was turned into a co-op and two years later the Delphi closed permanently.  Fifteen years later, the pool and two hot tubs are still there, but sits empty.
